About This Site

Columbus County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service for locating official paths to custody, booking, court, and corrections records in North Carolina. It does not host a mugshot gallery. The aim is to make the source distinction clear: CCSO handles county detention, municipal police can originate an arrest, the courts show later case events, and state or federal agencies hold different custody records.

Why the Reference Exists

Finding a Columbus County booking photo or recent arrest record can require more than one office. The CCSO In Custody Report is a dated county snapshot and does not state a public photo policy. The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction has a separate offender locator for state prison, probation, and parole. North Carolina eCourts picks up later hearings and dispositions. When an online source is silent, the practical answer is a focused request to the custodian.

This service gathers those official links, local contacts, and plain-language lookup steps. It does not copy faces, assemble records into a gallery, or decide what an arrest means. Charges remain accusations unless and until a court enters a different result.

What the Pages Point To

The main sections are organized around the records people commonly need, with each source labeled by custody state and authority.

  • The home page combines current county custody, booking-record requests, recent arrest coverage, law, court follow-up, and federal or state alternatives.
  • Sheriff’s Most Wanted explains CCSO’s active wanted and child-support-warrant paths, tip safety, and the limits of a general warrant check.
  • Mugshots in the News identifies local newspaper, television, and secondary coverage and shows how to trace a story to an official record.
  • Whiteville, Tabor City, and Chadbourn pages explain their police contacts, county booking route, local coverage, and record-request differences.
  • North Carolina statutes, expunction information, records schedules, and agency links are included so a reader can verify a source directly.

What This Service Cannot Do

This is not a government office and has no affiliation with CCSO, Whiteville Police, Tabor City Police, Chadbourn Police, the detention center, NCDAC, or any other North Carolina agency. It cannot release or confirm custody, post bond, schedule a visit, send money, file a court form, or give legal advice.

  • Only the originating agency can confirm a current county custody status.
  • Only the responsible records custodian can release an existing booking record or image.
  • Only the court or clerk can supply an authoritative disposition or certified copy.
  • Phone numbers, addresses, fees, and hours can change, so verify them before acting.

Information may be incomplete or out of date. An arrest or booking photo is an accusation record, not evidence of guilt.

Search-Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search boxes operated by third-party providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and results. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid signup, this service may receive a referral fee. That arrangement helps support the service, but it does not make the provider an official Columbus County source, and it does not give this service control over the partner’s data or output.
